Water & Sewer: The cities of Tuscaloosa and Northport provide water and sewer services to their respective communities, with Tuscaloosa primarily serving local industry. The City of Tuscaloosa has the capacity to treat 45 million gallons per day (mgd) with current use at 26 mgd. The water is soft and low in mineral content. The wastewater treatment plant is designed to treat 24 mgd with current usage at 15 mgd.
